Peter Zaborowsky is a Managing Director of Evolution Markets.A pioneer of emissions markets with experience as both a trader and a broker, he has grown Evolution Markets' Environmental Markets group into the world's largest emissions brokerage firm. The team has brokered more than $5 billion worth of emissions transactions and has been named the top SO2 and NOx brokerage for the last three years. Mr. Zaborowsky focuses on structuring emission reduction credit (ERC) transactions for all pollutants and assisting clients in structuring large transactions in the SO2 market and under the NOx SIP Call program.
Prior to joining Evolution Markets in October 2000, Mr. Zaborowsky spent 15 years in the energy industry holding a variety of both financial and engineering positions. As a senior broker and manager of the emissions desk at a major Wall Street energy commodities firm, Mr. Zaborowsky structured the first NOx allowance transaction, the first multi-state discrete emission reduction (DER) auction, and several of the largest SO2 allowance transactions ever completed.
As a Manager of Independent Power Development while at Long Island Lighting Company from 1985 to 1996, Mr. Zaborowsky structured the first option transaction under the SO2 emission allowance program in 1992 and the first emission reduction credit trade in New York State in 1994 while raising in excess of $30 million in emission-related revenues.
An acknowledged expert in the field of emissions trading, Mr. Zaborowsky has presented and consulted for organizations including the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Wharton School of Business, the Harvard Institute for International Development and Baruch College's Energy Forum.
His educational background includes an MBA in Marketing and International Business and a BS in Applied Physics.
